The best way to change the society and the underlying issues is to channelize the power of an individual in every walk of life.” With this thought YASKAWA INDIA, an Indian Subsidiary of Yaskawa Electric Corporation-Japan through its CSR initiative “ PRAYAS” is supporting the Indian society by various activities to make a difference in an individual life. YASKAWA spreads its efforts out to cover important areas such as women empowerment, skill development and educating the underprivileged.

Recently YASKAWA has partnered with a non-government organization “MERA PARIVAR” located in Gurugram to support the project on Women Empowerment. This NGO was founded in 2005 and strives to bring education to the less privileged children, empowerment of women and sustainable livelihood.

The mission YASKAWA is associated with, is to educate and empower the underprivileged women students by opening the “School of Fashion Designing” at Rajiv Nagar (Gurugram) and enabling them to explore ways to live in harmony with fashion and sustainability.

On 11th March’19, Mr. Akinori Urakawa – President & CEO of Yaskawa India Pvt Ltd. inaugurated the school with other team members and handed over the sewing machines and MacBook to the beneficiaries. It was followed by the dance performances by kids of MERA PARIVAR bringing smile on everyone’s face.YASKAWA facilitated “MERA PARIVAR” for Initial set up of Designing School by providing Designing Software Equipment, Stitching machines, Trainer`s salary etc. This will help the students to have practical experience and learn know how about the fashion with upgraded technology, enabling them to empower themselves with self-confidence and expand horizon. This initiative will also provide opportunities for financial independence to the women associated with this NGO.

Beneficiaries were overwhelmed by receiving the support from Yaskawa and thanked team for bringing them a step closer to their dreams.

Another CSR initiative by YASKAWA INDIA is for Skill Development in partnership with “Punarutthan Samarsata Gurukulam”, a school for tribal and orphan kids, located at Chinchwad, Pune. This school was started in the year 2006 with a mission to provide education to the children with excellent teaching methodology.

The school takes pride to have student teacher ratio of 23:1 with a team of 15 professional and dedicated faculties to provide high class education to its students. GURUKULAM is operating class 1 to 10 with the strength of approximately 355 students and 5000 books in its library.

YASKAWA team organized the CSR activity with GURUKULAM on 12th March’19 with a focus to promote education amongst the children on developing and honing their skills. Also with this initiative, Yaskawa is taking a step towards supporting the mission of Indian government for skill development.

Team Yaskawa across its India locations, visited the facility of school and spent the day with children. The school has an Ayurveda lab where students make medicines for general diseases, pottery lab and sewing lab along with facilities of computer science lab, Mechanical lab, Classrooms and Library.

During interaction with these students, they were made to sing & they sang with joy which filled the atmosphere with happiness. YASKAWA donated 1000 litres Solar Water Heater to “Punarutthan Samarsata Gurukulam”, for their Hostel Facility providing hot water 24×7 for kids. The children became very happy to receive it and thanked team with lot of smiles.
