Technical Training – INDIAN Railways

SWR-Hubli: In 1990 the Hubli workshop commenced manufacture of fabricated bogies for ICF type coaches. This workshop is now the part of South Western Railway (SWR) which was formed on 1st April 2003. The Hubli workshop thus forms the backbone of SWR for maintenance and repair activities of rolling stock and its components.

A One-day Training at SWR – Hubli was conducted for Electrical Department in which below topics were covered.

  • Introduction of YASKAWA and Products
  • Explore the knowledge on VFD features and Selection criteria.
  • Energy saving application along with Special Regenerative products of YASKAWA
  • Hands-on training on A1000-C VFD and troubleshooting of VFD Faults and analysis.
  • Utilization of Drive wizard software.

The Training was inaugurated by Mr. Raghuveer Prasad Meena (CME/SWR/UBLS) Mr. Neeraj Jain (CWM/UBLS), Mr. S V Shenvi (Dy. CWM/UBLS) and Mr. M Prathapan (DEE/UBLS) . The Technical training was conducted by Mr. Boopathi S (Sr. Engineer – Technical support) and Mr. Ajitesh Kumar Jha (Sr. Engineer – Technical support).

A Total of 71 participants attended this program including Engineers, Jr. Engineers and technicians from different locations like Vijayawada (AP),Trichy, Bangalore, Hyderabad Mumbai and Chennai of SWR. Technical Quiz and Hands-on trial on YASKAWA A1000-C VFD was conducted at the end of session for individual evaluation of the program, which was the key interesting Event in the program.
